Overview: System Inventory is your standard inventory catalogue. It holds the categories and items, with their sizes and volumes, that are used when building a job’s inventory. Keeping it accurate helps with quoting and planning. This article covers every action available on the page.
1. Open System Inventory
Go to Settings.
Click Inventory.
Click System Inventory.
You’ll see your categories, each with its item count (for example, Bedrooms/Study, 50 items), and the items under each one. The table shows:
Item Name
Category
Dimensions (L×W×H)
Volume (m³)
Packing Materials
2. Hide Volume (m³) from Customer
At the top of the page is the Hide Volume (m³) from Customer toggle.
When it’s on, volume figures are hidden on the customer inventory page.
This setting applies to all jobs across your organisation.
When you switch it on or off, a message confirms that the inventory settings were updated successfully.
3. Search the Inventory
Use the Search inventory items bar at the top to find an item by name.
Click the arrow next to a category name to expand or collapse it.
4. Add a Category
Click the Add button at the top right.
Select Add Category.
Enter the Category Name, for example Kitchen or Garage.
Click Add Category.
Note: Category names must be unique. If the name already exists, you’ll see the error “Category already exists”. Choose a different name.
5. Edit a Category
Click the pencil icon on the category row.
Update the Category Name.
Click Save Changes.
6. Delete a Category
Click the bin icon on the category row.
Click Delete to confirm.
Important: Deleting a category also deletes every item inside it. This can’t be undone.
7. Add an Item
You can add an item in two ways:
Click Add Item on the category row.
Click Add at the top right, then select Add Item.
In the panel that opens, fill in:
Item Name (required). For example, Bed - King Ensemble.
Category Type (required). Choose the category from the list, for example Bedrooms/Study.
Length, Width and Height (cm). For example, 180, 200 and 60.
Volume (m³) (required). For these sizes, the volume is 2.16.
Upload Image (optional). See below.
Associated Packing Materials (optional). See section 8.
Include in ICR auto-population. See section 9.
Then click Create.
Tip: You can enter the dimensions, or enter the total volume directly without them.
Upload an image for the item
An image helps your team and crew recognise the item in the inventory list.
In the Upload Image box, drag and drop an image onto the box. You can also click Choose file and pick one from your device.
Check that the file name shows in the box.
Click Create.
If you don’t upload an image, the item uses the default inventory image.
To change an item’s image later, click the three dots on the item row, select Edit, upload a new image and save.
8. Add Packing Materials to an Item
Link the packing materials an item usually needs, so they’re ready when the item is added to a job.
Switch on Associated Packing Materials.
Open the Packing Material List and tick the materials that go with this item, for example Packing Paper, Packing Tape or Large Moving Box. You can search the list.
Click Create (or Save if you’re editing an item).
The materials then show in the Packing Materials column for that item.
9. Include an Item in ICR Auto-Population
The Include in ICR auto-population toggle is on by default.
On: The item is added to the ICR list automatically when Uplift starts. Your crew can still add it manually.
Off: The item isn’t pre-filled in the ICR. Use this for items you don’t want added automatically.
10. Edit an Item
Click the three dots at the end of the item row.
Select Edit.
Update the details.
Save your changes.
11. Delete an Item
Click the three dots at the end of the item row.
Select Delete.
12. Import Inventory Items
If you have a long list, import it in one go instead of adding items one by one.
Click Import at the top of the page.
Click Download a sample file and fill it in.
Upload your file. Click the upload area, or drag and drop the file.
Note: XLSX and CSV files are supported.
13. Reorder Categories and Items
Drag the handle at the left of a category or an item to move it to a new position.
