Add custom fields to leads and jobs

Custom fields let you capture additional information when creating a lead or job in Movermate. You can use them for purchase order numbers, agency references, department names, or other details your business needs.

Custom field values are searchable and can also be displayed as columns in your lead and job tables. Their merge tags allow you to include these details in email templates, PDFs, and documents.

Create a custom field

  1. Go to Settings → Job Configuration → Custom Fields.
    ​

  2. Click Add Field.
    ​

  3. Enter a Field Name, such as “Purchase Order Number”.
    ​

  4. Select the appropriate Field Type. For purchase order numbers, choose Text to allow letters, numbers, and symbols.
    ​

  5. Add an optional Placeholder, such as “Enter purchase order number”.
    ​

  6. Choose Full Width or Half Width to control how the field appears on the form.
    ​

  7. Turn on Required if users must complete the field before continuing.
    ​

  8. Click Save and ensure the field is Enabled.
    ​

Enter details when creating a lead or job

Open the Create Lead or Add New Job form. Your enabled custom fields will appear alongside the existing fields.

Enter the relevant details and save the lead or job. For example, you could enter PO-2026-0148 in the Purchase Order Number field.

If some bookings do not have a purchase order number, leave the field optional.

Search by purchase order number

  1. Open the Jobs screen and select Won Jobs.
    ​

  2. Enter the saved purchase order number in the search box.
    ​

  3. Open the matching job.

You can use the same approach to search for values stored in other custom fields. This helps your team locate bookings when customers provide an agency reference or purchase order number instead of a Movermate job number.

Display custom fields in your tables

Use the column selection options in the Leads or Jobs table to show your custom fields.
​

For example, displaying Purchase Order Number as a column lets your team see the reference without opening each record.

Use custom fields in templates

Each custom field has a corresponding merge tag that you can insert into email templates, PDFs, and documents.
​

Select the field’s merge tag from the available merge tags to populate the saved value automatically. This is useful for including purchase order numbers in customer communications and financial documents.

Update an existing field

Return to Settings → Job Configuration → Custom Fields to edit a field’s settings or enable or disable it.
