Connect SendGrid with Movermate
Connect SendGrid with Movermate to send emails using your own authenticated business domain.
This guide will walk you through authenticating your domain, configuring DNS records, creating an API key, and connecting SendGrid with Movermate.
Before you begin
Make sure you have:
An active SendGrid account
Access to your domain’s DNS settings
Access to your Movermate account
Permission to create API keys in SendGrid
Note: This guide uses GoDaddy as an example. If your DNS is hosted with another provider, the screens may look different, but the required DNS records remain those generated by SendGrid.
Part 1: Authenticate your domain in SendGrid
1. Open Sender Authentication
Log in to your SendGrid account.
Go to:
Settings → Sender Authentication
Under Domain Authentication, click Authenticate Your Domain.
2. Select your DNS provider
SendGrid will ask:
Which Domain Name Server (DNS) host do you use?
Open the DNS host dropdown and select the provider where your domain’s DNS records are managed.
For example, select GoDaddy if your DNS is managed through GoDaddy.
Under Would you also like to brand the links for this domain?, select the option appropriate for your setup.
For the setup shown in this guide, select No.
Click Next.
3. Enter your domain
Under Domain You Send From, enter your business domain.
For example:
yourcompany.com.au
Do not include https://, www, or an email address unless specifically required for your domain configuration.
Click Next.
Part 2: Add the DNS records
4. View the DNS records generated by SendGrid
SendGrid will generate the DNS records required to authenticate your domain.
Select Manual Setup to view the records.
You may see multiple records, including:
CNAME records
TXT/DMARC records
Each record will contain a Host and Points To value.
Important: Your DNS records are unique to your SendGrid account and domain. Always copy the values directly from your own SendGrid account. Do not copy the example values shown in screenshots.
5. Open your DNS settings
Log in to your DNS provider.
For GoDaddy, open your domain and navigate to:
Domain → DNS → DNS Records
Click Add New Record.
6. Add each SendGrid DNS record
Copy each record from SendGrid and add it to your DNS provider.
Match the fields as follows:
SendGrid | GoDaddy |
Type | Type |
Host | Name |
Points To | Value |
TTL | TTL |
For example, when adding a CNAME record:
Type: CNAME
Name: Copy the Host provided by SendGrid
Value: Copy the Points To value provided by SendGrid
TTL: Leave the default value unless otherwise required
Click Save.
Repeat this process until all records shown in SendGrid have been added.
Important: The Host and Points To values must match the values provided by SendGrid. Incorrect or missing DNS records can prevent verification.
7. Verify your DNS records
Return to SendGrid after adding all DNS records.
Tick:
I’ve added these records.
Then click Verify.
DNS changes may take some time to propagate. If verification does not work immediately, wait and try again later.
8. Confirm your domain is verified
Once SendGrid successfully verifies the DNS records, you will see:
It worked!
Click Return to Sender Authentication.
Your domain should now show a green Verified status.
Your domain authentication is now complete.
Part 3: Create your SendGrid API key
9. Open API Keys
In SendGrid, navigate to:
Settings → API Keys
Click Create API Key.
10. Configure your API key
Enter a recognizable API Key Name.
For example:
Movermate
Under Set API Key Permissions, select the required permissions.
For the setup shown in this guide, select:
Full Access
Click Create & View.
11. Copy your API key
SendGrid will generate your API key.
Click or select the key and copy it immediately.
Important: SendGrid only displays the complete API key once. Store it securely before leaving this page.
Keep your API key secure
Your API key provides access to your SendGrid account. Do not publish it in documentation, emails, screenshots, or other publicly accessible locations.
If an API key is accidentally exposed, revoke it in SendGrid and create a new one.
Part 4: Connect SendGrid with Movermate
12. Open Movermate Settings
Log in to Movermate.
From the left navigation menu, click:
Settings
13. Open App Integration
Under General Settings, select:
App Integration
14. Find SendGrid
Scroll through the available integrations until you find SendGrid.
Enable the toggle on the SendGrid integration.
The Connect SendGrid to Movermate window will open.
15. Enter your SendGrid details
