How to Manage and Edit Employee Shifts in the Roster
Updated over a week ago

Below, we’ll guide you through two options for editing and managing employee shifts: Option 1 for editing specific shifts on a given day and Option 2 for managing recurring shifts.

Edit a Specific Shift on a Specific Date

When you need to make changes to an individual shift on a specific date, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Employee Roster

From the employee’s profile, go to the "Roster" tab. This will bring up the calendar with the employee’s shift schedule.

  2. Click on the Shift

Click directly on the shift you wish to edit. This will open the shift details for that specific date.

Edit the Shift Slot

Once you’ve opened the shift details, you can update the shift slot as required. You can change it to a different time slot (e.g., switch from morning to afternoon).

Update the Shift

After making the necessary changes, click the "Update" button to save your changes for that specific shift.

Delete the Shift (If Needed)

If you need to delete the shift for that specific day, click the "Delete" button. This will remove the shift entirely from the calendar for that date.

Edit Recurring Shifts (Weekly/Recurring)

If the employee has recurring shifts (e.g., weekly shifts), you can update either a single occurrence or all shifts within that recurrence.

  1. Navigate to the Employee Roster

Go to the "Roster" tab to access the employee's shift calendar.

  2. Click on a Shift Within the Recurrence

Find one of the recurring shifts within the schedule and click on it to open the shift details.

Change the Shift Slot

If you want to change the shift slot (morning, afternoon, all-day), select the new shift time.

Decide How to Apply the Changes

Once you’ve selected the new shift slot, you will be presented with two options to apply the change:

  • Update Only This Shift: If you want to update only the selected shift within the recurrence, choose this option. It will apply the change to just this specific occurrence and leave the other shifts in the recurrence unaffected.

  • Update All Shifts of This Recurrence: If you want to apply the change to all future shifts within the recurring schedule, select this option. It will update the entire recurrence, applying the change to every shift in the series.

Delete the Shift (If Needed)

If you need to delete the shift:

  • Delete Only This Shift: If you only want to remove the shift for the selected day within the recurrence, choose this option.

  • Delete All Shifts of This Recurrence: If you want to remove all future shifts in the recurring series, choose this option to delete all of them.
