1. Open Credit Notes in Finance
Log in to your Movermate CRM.
From the left navigation menu, go to Finance → Credit Notes.
You will see a list of existing Credit Notes.
Click + Create Credit Note in the top-right corner.
The customer selection window will open.
2. Select a Customer
Use the Search field to find the customer.
Select the required customer from the list.
Movermate will display the available jobs associated with that customer.
Note: Every Credit Note must be associated with a customer.
3. Select a Job (Optional)
After selecting the customer, you can choose whether to associate the Credit Note with a Job.
To create a Credit Note for an existing Job:
Find the required Job in the list.
Review the Job ID, Job Date and Job Type to confirm the correct Job.
Select the Job to continue.
To create a Credit Note without a Job:
Click + Create Credit Note without Job.
Continue to the Credit Note details form.
This option is useful when you need to issue a customer credit without linking it to a specific Job.
4. Enter Credit Note Details
Once you have selected a Job or chosen to create a Credit Note without one, the Credit Note form will open.
Complete the following fields:
Field | Description |
Credit Note Date* | Select the date of the Credit Note. |
Category* | Select the reason for issuing the Credit Note. |
Rate | Enter the credit amount per unit. |
Qty | Enter the quantity being credited. |
Unit | Select the applicable unit, such as Fixed Price. |
Add Tax | Add tax if applicable. |
Description | Enter additional information about the credit, if required. |
Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.
The Description field is optional and supports up to 500 characters.
You can add Credit Note categories under Settings → Finance → Credit Notes if the required category is not available.
5. Review the Credit Note Amount
As you enter the Credit Note details, Movermate calculates the total based on the rate, quantity and any applicable tax.
Review the following amounts before creating the Credit Note:
Line Total: The amount calculated for the Credit Note item.
Subtotal: The total before applicable tax.
Tax: Any tax added to the Credit Note.
Total Amount: The final Credit Note amount.
For example, if you enter a rate of $100 and a quantity of 2, the subtotal will be $200 before any applicable tax.
Make sure the amount and category are correct before proceeding.
6. Create the Credit Note
Review the customer, selected Job (if applicable), Credit Note date and item details.
Confirm the total amount.
Click Create Credit Note.
Movermate will create the Credit Note and automatically assign a unique Credit Note number, such as CN-00001.
You can find the created Credit Note under Finance → Credit Notes.
Important: Creating a Credit Note does not automatically mean its amount has been applied to an invoice. You must apply the available credit to an eligible invoice separately.
