From 1 October 2026, businesses in Australia cannot charge customers a surcharge for paying by eftpos, Mastercard, Visa, American Express or UnionPay. Follow the steps below to set your credit card surcharge to 0% in Movermate.
Step 1: Open Payment Settings
Log in to your Movermate CRM.
Click the Settings icon in the bottom-left corner.
Scroll to the Finances section.
Select Payments.
Step 2: Set the Credit Card Surcharge to 0%
Locate the Bank Details section.
Find the Credit Card Surcharge field.
Enter 0 in the field.
Click Save in the bottom-right corner.
Once saved, Movermate will no longer add a separate credit card surcharge to customer card payments.
Important Information
From 1 October 2026, businesses in Australia cannot charge customers a separate surcharge for card payments. Card processing costs may be included in the business’s overall pricing, but they cannot be added as a separate card payment surcharge.
